Brushes needed for this tutorial:
Generally, I use brushes that are either square-shaped or “wash” brushes in one half to one inch sizes:

And pointed brushes in a “medium” or “small/detail” size

It’s ok if your brushes are slightly different sizes; use what you are most comfortable with as long as it’s made for a water-based medium.
