Happy Veterans Day, beautiful artists! This week I was inspired by the holiday weekend and those who have served to do a painting that honors veterans, (and is also beautiful any time of year!) The red poppy officially became the national emblem of remembrance in 1920. The red poppy’s association with remembrance and sacrifice has made it a symbol of support for veterans and a way to honor the fallen and support the living who have worn the nation’s uniform. Red poppies are appropriate for both Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and this painting is also just fun and beautiful any time of year! Thank you to those who have served, and thanks for being here and painting along. Happy Veteran’s Day and happy painting!
